Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling Arthur A. Levine Books, 1999 341 pages

1. What is the book about? (Remember don’t give away the ending) This book is the sequel to the beautiful Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. It’s Harry’s second year at Hogwarts and he meets a house elf called Dobby. During the summer his friends Ron and Hermione didn’t write him at all. He soon finds out why they hadn’t been writiting with his friend Dobby. When Harry gets to school something strange is going on and its not a cold. Harry is hearing voices and discovers he can speak a second language without having to learn it. Harry meets a famous fraud of a wizard. Professor Lockhart. That is all I can tell you without giving away the ending.

2. What is your favorite part?
My favorite part of the book is when Harry goes down into the chamber. This part is my favorite because it has so much adventure in it. It is really funny because Lockhart tries to do a memory charm on Ron and Harry. It backfires and he gets hit with his own memory charm, so he forgets everything and is really confused. It’s my favorite part because it is so funny and has so much adventure.

3. What part of the book would you change?
I would probably change the really long speech Tom Riddle (a.k.a. Lord Voldemort) gave. I would change it because it was really boring. He just told us about his life and rearranged his name. His full name is Tom Marvolo Riddle.

4. Will you recommend this book to a friend?
I would probably recommend this book to a friend that likes things like Harry Potter, which is not most of my friends, but for the people who like scary things and a control freak wizard then yeah. He also has a friend that’s genius at wizardry, but is mostly muggle (non-magic type like you and me) and a pure blood friend with four brothers and one sister.
5. How many stars would you give this book?
I would give this book five stars because it is such a great book with all the adventure and a control freak wizard.

Eagle- eyed reader
